Stocks moved sharply lower Thursday with the major averages ending at the worst levels of the day. The broad based weakness reflected concerns about ongoing political turmoil in Washington, D.C. and the van attack in Barcelona, Spain. Traders also reacted negatively to the latest batch of earnings with Wal-Mart and Cisco Systems moving lower after reporting their quarterly results.
